Problem/Research Statement: The problem that our group will be addressing is the limitations that quadriplegics have with motion and performing essential daily tasks. Without outside help, they cannot perform these tasks, and we plan on assisting these people and their close families by giving them the freedom and mobility that they require and deserve.

ISTF Project Title: Gas-O-Weed
Problem/Research Statement: Gas-o-Weed is an alternative fuel made from marine algae, otherwise known as seaweed. This unique fuel source will decrease the use of petroleum, a critical non-renewable resource, it will be more cost efficient than petroleum, and at the same time it will not pollute the atmosphere with carbon dioxide, emissions.

Problem/Research Statement: Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) is a respiratory disease caused by coronavirus, a virus that attacks the epithelial cells of the lungs and intestines and also causes an immune response. There is no vaccination for this condition, and when there are outbreaks in parts of the world, it results in many fatalities.

Problem/Research Statement: Alzheimer's Disease is an increasing problem in the elderly population, which is substantially increasing over the years. This disease makes it harder for patients to remember memories as time develops. Their disability to retain images and ideas makes life harder and more dangerous for them.

Also, large quantities of rainwater go through gutters each day, all of which is wasted. There is no current comprehensive plan of eliminating wasteful water and recycling that which can be reused.
