We are students at Fairgrounds Junior High School in Nashua, (Hillsborough County) New Hampshire. Our names are Shivani, Christine, and Kristen. We started the project because we wanted to learn how we could help keep the earth oil spill free! We are very concerned about how we can save the earth before it is overcome with pollution and destroyed. We all want be effective in helping the earth when we grow older, whether it focuses on saving animal life or human life!

Our team members (from left to right): Shivani B., Christine C., Kristen D.

Hello, my name is Shivani. I was a member of the group that created this website. I had a lot of fun making this website. When people visit this website, I want them to learn and acknowledge the importance of preventing oil spills because of the harm they are causing to our earth. I also wish that this site is informative to those who need it. When kids come across this site, I hope that they find inspiration by knowing that three eighth graders made it.

I like sports such as basketball, soccer, and tennis. Although my whole life for the past 4 months has been focused on the project I still try to fit them in. As we progressed with this project I realized that I like making useful web pages. In the future I hope to make many more websites.

Hi, my name is Christine. I was one of the three students who created this web page. I am very interested in the topic we did. I believe that it is a very critical problem that needs to be eliminated. I know it would be very hard to be completely eliminated, but there is no harm in trying to help reduce the problem. I believe that everyone can make a difference.

When I grow older, I do want to make a difference in our world. There are so many problems that need to be resolved. There are also so many ways I can help. I would maybe want to help animals or work with marine biology. I would also like to teach children or other people. I'm definitely undecided about my profession right now but I do want to help.

Right now my life is basically made up of school, basketball, and soccer. I try really hard to focus on my schoolwork, while practicing to be a better basketball player and soccer player. I believe that if you want to get anywhere in life you can't give up, just like we have not given up on this web page!

Hi, my name is Kristen and I really enjoyed doing this project. I am interested in becoming a marine biologist for my future career because I would like to help save our world's oceans from pollution, such as oil. I think it is really important to keep the earth clean and safe for all inhabitants of our world.

In my spare time, which I don't have much of, I like playing soccer and basketball. Someday, I hope to travel to Australia to explore the Great Barrier Reef. I think it would be so much fun to swim with the dolphins and study the ocean's bottom.

We would like to thank everyone who helped us throughout this project. This would include Mrs. Morey, our science teacher who encouraged us and got us very involved in this this very enlightening project! We would also like to thank our librarian, Mrs. Newcomb. Without her this project would not be possible. Another person we would like to thank is our English teacher, Mrs. Landry. Without her there would be a lot of grammar mistakes!! Our technical adviser, Derek Burrill, who works at the U.S. Coast Guard in Portland, Maine, deserves a BIG thank you! And yet another BIG BIG BIG thank you goes out to John Whalan, who conducts Spill Response Classes around the world. Without him, we would never have seen oil spills put into a differnt light. The people listed above are people who would go to any lengths for us, and for that we are truly grateful. THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!
