ISTF Project #08-1856 was developed in response to the 2008-2009 Internet Science and Technology Fair.

Production:
-Define Bill of Materials necessary for prototype production.
-Schedule delivery dates of parts to begin assembly.
-Train workforce for later production.

Production:
-Contract landfills to insure fuel deliveries.
-Begin assembling the vehicle
(assembly line basis from previously trained workforce)

Production:
-Begin testing prototypes (gathering  safety & environmental data)
-Finalize material requirements to being Mass Production
-Hire & train additional workforce.

Production:
-Continue with Mass Production of vehicles.
-Deploy to dealerships.
-Provide service stations with the bio-efficient fuel.

Production:
-Six months worth of supply shipped to dealerships.
-Finish production quotas and begin improving vehicle efficiencies for coming years.

Marketing:
-Define a marketing team and develop a strategy that will focus on spreading the product information to the public and dealers.   

Marketing:
-Marketing team deployed to educate dealers of the bio-friendly vehicle.
-Provide brochures to be distributed to public at dealerships.

Marketing:
-Ad’s in magazines, newspapers, and websites about the benefits of purchasing the vehicle.
(reach out to potential buyers)

Marketing:
-Commercials on the outcome of using a bio-friendly car.
(using statistics on previous purchases)

Marketing:
-Meet with environmentalist to ensure the quality of the fuel is positively affecting the planet.
-Communicate successes through sponsored events.

Impact:
-The amount of trash accumulating in landfills is decreasing with production of the product.

Impact:
-Amount of trash is continuously decreasing.
-Air quality is expected to improve with better fuel source.

Impact:
-Positive public response to a better fuel source.
-Economy paying less for gas.

Impact:
-Gas stations wanting more bio-efficient fuel lead to reduce prices in oil purchased from other countries.

Impact:

  • Description- With Penn Foster's Mechanical Engineering Technology Department, you can earn your Associate’s Degree and learn about: Technology Orientation and Technical Mathematics, Engineering Mechanics and Mechanical Design, Fluid Mechanics and Technical Writing. The program is divided in four semesters, and is an online class.

Description- You can choose from three graduate degree programs: Master of Science, Master of Engineering, and Ph.D. Math and Science will be applied into learning the about Engineering Mechanics and design. You will learn the “Engineering Method” which will help you through an uncertain situation with the available resources.


Task Three

With this new Engineering Degree Program: Mechanics of Advanced Engine Control. You will learn about the advancement in engine control. You will get a chance to work and possibly contribute to the future of automobiles. You will learn about the many possible alternative fuel sources, and work on any possible improvement within them.
The work done in the program will also teach you to be resourceful. Our focus is to not only teach about Engine Control, but the many ways that technology can be used to help make the environment a cleaner place.
